The Old Mutual Music at the Lake series kicks-off its 2012 season on Valentine’s Day on the 14th of February with two brilliant artists set to perform at Durban Botanical Gardens. Arno Carstens of Springbok Nude Girls Fame and Louise Carver will set the romantic mood. Gates open from 5:30pm. Tickets cost R100.00 online or R120.00 at the gate. The Unlimited Dusi Canoe Marathon starts in Pietermaritzburg on 16 February and finishes in Durban on 20 February.
 

Maritzburg Marathon and Half Marathon
Sunday, 26 February 2012
Drill Hall
This race is known as the ‘marathon for battlers’ this is a two lap route through the historic of part of Pietermaritzburg. It’s characterized by gentle climbing and long down hills and passes Marizburg College, the suburb of Bisley and Oribi Airport on the way out.  On the way back you will pass St Johns DSG, cross the Umsinduzi River once again and finally finish at the Drill Hall past Merchiston and Longmarket schools. Walkers and wheelchair athletes are welcome. The Maritzburg Marathon has been consistently ranked by Runners World as a well organized and well presented event.
